TRIPIL Services - Home and Community Based ServicesMike Cogley
Director Home and Community Based Services are sometimes called Waiver Funded Services or Waiver Programs because they are provided under special conditions through federal approval whereby certain rules for Medical Assistance eligibility are waived. Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) are services or other supports to help people with disabilities of all ages to live in the community. These services can be funded by private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, or private pay. Pennsylvania has a mix of programs and funding sources. The Medicaid program pays for many of these services. However, Pennsylvania also has the ACT 150 program that is funded with dollars from the State Legislature and fills the gap for people who are not Medicaid eligible. Depending upon the particular scope of the funding, HCBS services include: case management, service coordination, homemaker, home health aide, personal care, peer support, home modification, skills training, transportation, adult day health care, habilitation, respite care, and other services. TRIPIL Services is a provider for the State of Pennsylvania for many of those services in Washington, Fayette, and Greene Counties.
